Biography:
Fareed worked for Derby and Derbyshire for the past 30 years as Social Worker. He was first elected to the Council in 1991from Babington Ward and has held many positions since. Fareed is currently the Cabinet Member for Urban Renewal.  Most recently he was the Cabinet Member for Children and Young People. He was Vice Chair of Housing Committee in the mid 90s under old structure and became a Derby Homes Board Member a few years later. Fareed is close to taking retirement from his job with Derbyshire County Council and is looking forward to devoting most of his energy and efforts to his new portfolio responsibilities. He enjoys walking and watching cricket.
