I came to Derby from Birmingham in 1971 and have lived in the city ever since. Before moving, I had a range of jobs in the private sector. When I came to Derby, I moved into the public sector and spent over 30 years working for Derby City Council in a variety of roles covering a wide range of services. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. Before I retired as Director of Policy in 2005, I was responsible for Personnel, Community Policy, Communications and Consultation, and all the Strategic and Operational Housing Functions remaining with the Council. I have worked closely with Derby Homes since its inception and look forward to continuing that relationship in my new role and contributing to its continuing success.
